The ‘Toys’ incursion is extremely engaging, hands on and perfect for a range of class focuses. Popular focuses include; 'toys from the past', 'how things work', 'forces & motion', 'technology & changes', 'toys and games from around the world', ‘materials’. Simply let us know prior to the Incursion and we will ensure that our qualified teachers cater the session to focus on what your class is learning about.
Students will be put into smaller groups to rotate through our four stations; ‘Construction Land’, ‘Fiction World’, ‘Gaming World’ and ‘Toys That Move’.
The Instructor will introduce the toys in each section, explain how to use/ play with some, explore the materials, tell wonderful stories and share their history.
Students will also discover toys from as early as BC and encounter examples of the oldest toys in the world on our historic display tables. More toys from the late 1900's and even modern day wonders can be found as children can see how technology has changed over time. The Instructor will pose enquiry-focused questions to students encouraging investigation and learning through playing.
