Toy Science

Students explore movements, materials or senses as they get hands on with some weird and wonderful toys

RECOMMENDED FOR FOUNDATION - YEAR 3

This incursion is perfectly pitched for the younger years. It is sure to get your students exploring the science behind toys as it focuses on play based learning.

Students work in groups to explore the different scientific aspects of toys. They will discover many beautiful toys from all walks of life including scientific toys and every day materials.

Our qualified teachers are fantastic at tailoring this session to suit your focus so please give us as much detail as possible and we will make it happen.

All you have to do is check the 'Important Information' below and we will do the rest.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • A large Gymnasium or Hall is required for this Incursion
  • Our instructor will arrive an hour before your start time to set up
  • 7 trestle tables or the equivilant is ideal
  • This session runs for 90 minutes
  • 44 students maximum per session (approximately)
  • We will structure the sessions around your school timetable
  • Teachers must be present during the session
  • A Minimum of a 75% deposit must be made 7 days from the date of booking for your incursion to go ahead.
  • You will be invoiced in accordance to your normal student numbers. Please let us know if there are any variations on the day and we will amend the invoice accordingly

Focus

This incursion has been designed to fit parts of the K-3 science curriculum.

Common focus areas throughout this incursion are:

  • Push and pull
  • Forces and Motion
  • Light and sound
  • Materials and their properties
  • Senses
  • How it is made
  • Communicating observations
