Solve and Discover: The Ultimate School Adventure!

Students navigate their school grounds in teams using iPads to solve cryptic clues and decode puzzles. This program combines an escape room with a treasure hunt, challenging students to apply orientation skills as they move around the school to find the locations clues lead them to. Through this adventure, students will enhance their teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities. The adventure concludes with a mapping and coordinates challenge, making for a dynamic and educational experience that engages students from start to finish.

Activities

In teams, students move around the school:

Engaging in problem-solving exercises using iPads, maps, codes, and compasses to find and solve clues, fostering teamwork and critical thinking.
Communicating and discussing observations with team members, making strategic decisions and drawing conclusions to advance in the competition.
Participating in a fun and competitive environment, where they use logic and planning achieve team goals.
Collaborating to apply their prior knowledge of direction and maps, enhancing their understanding of orientation skills.

Scope of Learning

Together we’ll select the learning outcomes that best suit your class and grade level curriculum requirements. Examples include:

Identify and describe the basic principles of direction and orientation
Apply various collaborative approaches to achieve team goals
Understand how to use a compass
Application of logic and problem-solving strategies.

Important Information

A large double classroom, along with access to the school grounds, is required for this incursion

Session capacity: 35-50 (age, ability and space dependent)

A minimum 75% deposit must be made 7 days from the date of booking for your incursion to go ahead

Our instructor will arrive an hour before your start time to set up

We will structure the sessions around your school timetable

You will be invoiced in accordance to your normal student numbers

This session runs for 90 minutes

Teachers must be present during the session

Please let us know if there are any variations on the day and we will amend the invoice accordingly
