Immerse yourself in a world of traditional styles of music, dance & celebrations!
This program offers a unique opportunity for cultural exploration, celebration, and inclusion, providing students with a safe environment to understand and appreciate diverse forms of expression. Guided by our experienced dance instructors, students will embrace and celebrate global cultures through engaging music, dance, and traditional attire.
As students explore Latin, Bollywood, African, and Spanish dance styles, they’ll dive into the intricacies of each with lively, international rhythms. Watch their confidence soar as they master new dance steps and ‘freeze frames’. The program concludes with students performing their routines and sharing their experiences, fostering a supportive space for self-expression and cultural appreciation.
Activities
Through teacher-guided dances, students:
- Explore the connections between culture, communication, and creativity, discussing and embracing various cultural movements, traditions, and celebrations.
- Discuss the significance of, and wear, traditional outfits and accessories, enriching their experience and deepening their understanding of different cultures around the world.
- Learn to follow and perform dance routines, challenging themselves to refine their physical coordination and motor skills while gaining confidence in their abilities.
- Participate in the Confidence Circle at the end of the program, where they showcase everything they’ve learned, letting loose and celebrating their progress with their peers.
Scope of Learning
Together we’ll select the learning outcomes that best suit your class and grade level curriculum requirements. Examples include;
