Unlocking Adventure: A Unique Team Challenge

In this unique program, students embark on an exciting challenge as they navigate their school in teams, using compasses and iPads to decipher clues and crack codes. The aim is to solve as many clues and puzzles as possible to earn points for their team, emphasising collaboration and friendly competition. Participants will recognise and leverage the unique strengths each team member brings while tackling challenges that require lateral and critical thinking. Throughout the experience, students will hone essential skills such as teamwork, effective communication, problem-solving, and adaptability.

Activities

In teams, students move around the school:

Engaging in problem-solving exercises using iPads, maps, keys, codes, and compasses to find and solve clues, fostering teamwork and critical thinking.
Communicating and discussing observations with team members, making strategic decisions to advance in the competition.
Identifying and describing the principles of mapping and orientation, enhancing their understanding of navigation.
Applying various collaborative approaches to achieve team goals, recognising and leveraging each member’s unique strengths.
Practising logic and planning skills while reflecting on their experiences to improve future performance.

Scope of Learning

Together we’ll select the learning outcomes that best suit your class and grade level curriculum requirements.

Identify and describe the principles of mapping and orientation
Apply various collaborative approaches to achieve team goals
Understand a compass, intercardinal points and what lies between these
Application of logic and problem-solving strategies.

Important Information

A large double classroom, along with access to the school grounds, is required for this incursion

Session capacity: 35-50 (age, ability and space dependent)

A minimum 75% deposit must be made 7 days from the date of booking for your incursion to go ahead

Our instructor will arrive an hour before your start time to set up

We will structure the sessions around your school timetable

You will be invoiced in accordance to your normal student numbers

This session runs for 90 minutes

Teachers must be present during the session

Please let us know if there are any variations on the day and we will amend the invoice accordingly
