Explore histories, origins and stories of the world’s most loved toys.
What better way to demonstrate the connection between history, the present day and the future than with this time travelling play-based learning incursion? Students explore the histories, facts and design variables across a range of toy themes, and discover how toys have evolved by exploring their movements, cultural significance and their place and time in history.

Activities
In groups, students rotate through 4 themed stations:
- Imagination: students become whoever they wish as they dress up, adopt different voices and characters, and use their creativity to create storylines and fun scenarios
- Skills: students tackle puzzles, games, and brainteasers that require practice and patience, approaching these challenges with an “I can” attitude to find the best strategies
- Up and About: students jump, hop, balance, and skip as they explore toys that previous generations enjoyed, requiring them to get up and move
- Construction: students put their building skills to the test as they use a variety of construction toys to create and design entirely new projects.
